Character Creation Guidelines 

Attribute Point Buy

This campaign will be using the Standard Fantasy Point Buy System. Each player’s attributes will begin at 10, and each player will be provided a pool of 15 points to modify their attributes (prior to racial modifications) using the table shown below.

Alignments

The main theme of this game will be the rebelling against the tyrannical hold of the Nation of Cheliax and House
Thrune over the city of Kintargo. As such, characters with a Chaotic alignment will be well suited for this
campaign. Characters with a Lawful alignment may still fit into the game, but should discuss their characters with
the Game Master prior to the first scenario.

A heroic game style will be prevalent with the game, and the Player Character’s will be the heroes of the story. That
said, an argument could be made by a player for characters of an Evil alignment to be present in the campaign. As
with Lawful aligned characters, these Players would need to discuss this in advance of the first game session with
the Game Master.

Although “Player versus Player” combat will not be prevented by the Game Master, the Game Master has stated that
Players should avoid creating characters that will obviously not integrate with the existing party, or is directly
seeking the detriment of other Player Characters upon their introduction into the campaign.

Races

The races outlined in the table below are available for character creation.

Character race options from the Advanced Player’s Guide and Advanced Race Guide can be used to change out
certain generic racial abilities for others. Please review any racial ability change with the Game Master prior to
selecting them for your character.

Note Regarding Tiefling PCs: Within the borders of Cheliax, although brokering with the forces of Hell is
commonplace and relations with devils is not unheard of, the infernal offspring of such unions are looked down
upon by both those who approve and disapprove of such acts. As such, Tieflings will have problems integrating into
society in general at times, and my indeed find themselves in difficult social situations due to their infernal lineage.

Classes

Classes approved for play for this game can be reviewed in the table shown below:

Please note that the following classes do come with certain play conditions as outlined below:

Monks & Paladins: As both of these classes require that the character is of some sort of Lawful
alignment, please review my notes regarding playing such characters under the Alignment subheading
listed above.

Ninja & Samurai: Characters of this type typically originate from the land of Tian Xia (the Asian inspired
lands of the Pathfinder Chronicles Setting). If you are wanting to play one of these character classes,
please discuss this character in detail with the Game Master prior to creating the character. It is possible to
“re-skin” the character class so that the character does originate from the Inner Sea Region of Golarion, but
has most (if not all) of the abilities associated with the Tian Xia version of these characters.

Charisma-Based Characters: There will be a strong focus in this campaign on “ROLE-playing”, and there
will be times when the players will find that their wits and wisdom will serve better than the sharp end of a
sword. For that reason, the Game Master highly encourages that at least one (or more) players take
character classes that allow them access to Charisma-based skills and abilities. Good examples of these
classes would include the following:

o Noble (FR)
o Paladin (CR)
o Psychic (OA)

Class Archetypes

Should a player wish to customize their character further by applying an archetype to their class, they may select an archetype from the list of Approved Source Materials listed in this document. However, the Game Master reserves the right to deny any archetype he feels unbalances gameplay, or does not fit the setting/timeline that the game takes place during.

Character Traits

Each player must select one Campaign Trait from the “Hell’s Rebel Player’s Guide”, as well as one other Trait from an approved Pathfinder source for their character. A list of approved sources for traits available to choose from can be viewed under the Approved Source Materials section below.

Feats

Feats may be taken from the source materials for Player Characters listed at the end of this document.

Spells

Spells that players may choose from freely at character creation and from advancing from levels can be taken from the Approved Source Materials section. (Note: The Game Master reserves the right to refuse certain spells that will unbalance gameplay or does not fit within the timeline/region that the game is set in).
